It's a SNOW DAY (hurray!) and we all mad dashed to the store to get eggs, milk, and bread. These ingredients do make a basic French Toast, but really it can be so much more. If you include your children in the cooking process, it's STEM. Yes! We can teach our children about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in our kitchens! Mixing ingredients is science. Discussing how the oven works is technology. Measuring ingredients is Math. Label items such as eggs, count slices of bread, and label the colors of the ingredients and you include even the youngest learners in their discovery of how the world works. When your done, have an engineering lesson building with the cardboard and plastic containers before they get tossed in the recycling bin.
