This morning we woke up to the first snow.
I looked out the window, poured a cup of coffee, and immediately sat down at my desk to re-plan today's Musical Story Time Jam to include books and songs about snow. Would families come to playgroup on a cold, icy morning? Yes! And did we have fun!
We read Red Sled by Patricia Thomas and In The Snow: Who's Been Here? by Lindsay Barrett George. It was so sweet to listen to the children hold out their arms and chant Who's been here? at the end of each page. We are developing readers!
We tapped sticks to Frosty The Snowman, danced to Michael Buble's Let It Snow and exhausted ourselves moving to Laurie Berkner's Shake Your Body Down.
We are in week three of meeting and the children and families who attend are building a community of learners and friends. We are having a blast and I can't wait to see everybody next week.
