Early Childhood Partners of Hamilton-Wenham & Manchester maintains a resource table at our office. The office is at Pilgrim Hall, 130 Essex Street, S. Hamilton, MA. We are very fortunate that Gordon-Conwell Nursery School http://www.gordonconwell.edu/hamilton/current/Nursery-School.cfm donates this space to the HWRSD for our work. If you are looking for any resources or referrals, call me and I can point you in the right direction. 978-468-5489.

It was another Cold and Frosty morning and we warmed up by singing, dancing, and reading stories at Manchester Historical Museum.
Check out the sparkly shoes! Enjoy! She was VERY proud to have her picture taken and I am posting this right away so that her parents can show it to her on the computer. Have a great day! - Lisa
We are Brain Building In Progress!
The regulars at Sweet Dreams Story Makers at Hamilton-Wenham Library on Tuesday evenings know that when Susie gets the shakers out, It's BANANA TIME!
Electric Bananas by Mr. Billy is a fun and upbeat song with lots of STOP & GO and that builds up your child's Inhibitory Control skill. It is important to play Stop & Go games with kids because it helps develop body awareness. Children learn to practice self-control, reinforce listening skills, and develop muscle control.
Below is a You Tube Video of the Electric Bananas song. Turn it up loud and dance all around! And GO. And STOP!
THIS is Brain Building in Progress! TURN IT UP!
Here we go round the mulberry bush on a cold and frosty afternoon. 🎶
We had a full house today at the Manchester Library for story time time jam. We are Brain Builders! Babies and toddlers, all 0-3, joined together and we sang Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush, we read Here We Go Round The Mulbery Bush by Jane Cabrera and added lots of verbal play to foster phonemic awareness (Bush, sh, sh, and lots of giggles) we played with balls (hand eye-coordination and labeling colors) while practicing the ASL signs for BALL and MORE, and we jammed out with instruments to This Little Light of Mine and Blue Skies.
It was a fun afternoon and we all enjoyed getting in from the cold. Stay warm!
Last night was our second annual Family Fun Night, a collaboration between Early Childhood Partners of Hamilton-Wenham & Manchester (CFCE), Miss Witzig's Child Development Class at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, and the Wenham Museum.
The Child Development class at the high school is a semester long elective and students are introduced to the early education field. The students spend time in classrooms within the school district and they get hands on experience on what it is like to work with young children in a developmentally appropriate way.
At the end of the semester the class facilitates Family Fun Night as a large group project. The Early Childhood Partners office supplied them with materials from Read & Rise ™ and the Brain Building In Progress initiative so that the students could consult Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) approved literacy curriculum and initiatives to inform their planning. The students come up with a theme, this year it was Home Sweet Home, and they create activity stations that they facilitate for parents and their children ages 0-8.
Last night there was building and mapping! Blocks, games, puzzles, art, stories and a good time had by all.
Thanks, Wenham Museum, for being a gracious partner and host! Thank you, Miss Witzig and students! Thank you, Lorraine at Hamilton-Wenham Library for suggesting and lending theme related books! Thank you, Early Childhood Partners Families and all from HWRSD that came out to participate and Tweet out all of the good work we are doing.
Please like us on Facebook and Twitter! 😀
Have a great long weekend! -Lisa Cheney
